About Marshall Rosier
After working with people with substance use disorders over many years, I have learned that the power and promise of addiction recovery is available to anyone willing to embark on the journey. I firmly believe in each person’s ability to change and improve their life, especially when it comes to problematic substance use, and that there are many pathways of recovery and all are worthy of celebration!
My early training was at the Haight Ashbury Free Clinics in San Francisco, CA where I worked with court involved and mandated clients and learned that regardless of what brings you to therapy, positive change is always possible. More recently, I worked in a large outpatient program in Connecticut with people in recovery from co-occurring substance use and mental disorders where I developed a deeper understanding of the importance of recovery-oriented practice and utilizing strength-based and person-centered approaches while treating the entire person, not just their addiction.
I have a Master’s Degree in Psychology from Yale University with specialized training and expertise in opioid use disorders, cocaine use disorders, alcohol use disorders, nicotine use disorders, addiction pharmacotherapy and co-occurring mood and anxiety disorders. I use a combination of counseling approaches in my work including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Transtheoretical Model, Motivational Interviewing, Contingency Management and Recovery Management. In addition to my clinical experience, I have extensive experience working as a Professional Recovery & Wellness Coach with diverse clients since 2007 and utilize many coaching principles and practices in my clinical work.
